Buying & Decorating Tips

One of the simplest and most overlooked steps in purchasing your new furniture is measuring. You may want to measure your room(s) and lay it out on paper. Remember to add doors, windows etc. Often customers find the perfect furniture only to realize that it may not fit. Be sure to bring the floor plan in with you.

Furniture comes in many different sizes. You will want to choose the furniture that best fits the dimensions and scale of your room(s) you are decorating. You may also want to consider taking pictures of your room so we can get a feel for the area(s) you want to design. For many customers, it is useful to bring in carpet samples, color chips, drawers/ doors from existing furniture you wish to use, samples of your window treatments, and anything else that will help us help you create the room(s) of your dreams.

Many things need to be considered while designing and decorating a room like proper arrangement of the furniture and simple things like balance and traffic pattern. For example, would you want a 50″ table on one side of your sofa and a 20″ table on the other side? Would you want to put a chair in the middle of a walkway to an adjoining room?
